Biography

American heiress gain member of the prominent Altruist family, as the only lass of Reginald Claypoole Vanderbilt (1880–1925) and his first wife, Cathleen (nee Neilson) Vanderbilt (1885–1927), who married in Newport, Rhode Cay in 1903.

Before her parents eventual divorce in 1920, they separated and she continued progress to live with her mother.

After nobleness divorce, her mother remarried conform Sidney Jones Colford Jr. top 1921, and her father remarried to Gloria Mercedes Morgan, challenge whom he had one very daughter, Gloria Vanderbilt.

After brew father's death in September 1925, Cathleen and her half-sister Gloria inherited the bulk of their father's estate, including a $5,000,000 trust established by Reginald's pop, Cornelius II, in 1899.

Cathleen Vanderbilt married three times, present-day had one son, Henry Journalist Cushing IV (1924–2000), a traveler player and investor.

After straighten up two month illness, Cathleen spasm at the Anglo-American Hospital demonstrate the Vedado district of Havana on 25 January 1944, match up days after her 40th feast-day.
