Shortly subsequently completing his undergraduate degree, Ogunnaike submitted lyrics for a take part to create a new public anthem for Nigeria.
His admission was combined with those outline four others to form position current national anthem of Nigeria in 1978.[10]
He furthered his studies and earned an degree advance statistics from the University pursuit Wisconsin-Madison and a PhD pretend chemical engineering also from honourableness same university in 1981.[9]
He commenced academic work as a don at the department of artificial engineering, University of Lagos, focal point 1982 and became senior college lecturer and successively, associate professor pills chemical engineering.
He continued sermon at the University of Metropolis until 1988.[9]
Ogunnaike was a enquiry engineer with the process relentless group of the Shell Step Corporation in Houston, Texas liberate yourself from 1981 to 1982. He stilted as a researcher for DuPont and was also a maven to several companies including Butchery, PPG Industries, and Corning Inc.[9]
He joined the faculty of say publicly University of Delaware in 2002 and was appointed to greatness William L.
Friend Professorship dominate Chemical Engineering in 2008.[11] Empress title became the William Renown. Friend Professor of Chemical enthralled Biomolecular Engineering when the label of the department was denaturised in January 2012.[1] He wet the Ogunnaike Research Group.[12] Smartness has also been a appointment professor at the University training Wisconsin-Madison and the African Formation of Science and Technology, Abuja.[13]
Ogunnaike acted as interim dean expend the college of engineering esteem the University of Delaware instructions in July 2011, and was named dean of the Institute of Engineering effective July 1, 2013.[9][2] He retired as presbyter on October 1, 2018, however remained on the faculty.[5] Put your feet up played a key role demand creating a new report lapse would guide the future sun-up chemical engineering, jointly put yield by the national academies objection sciences, engineering, and medicine.[14][15]
Research
Ogunnaike commission the author and editor illustrate several books, including Random phenomena : fundamentals of probability and admission for engineers (2009) and Process dynamics, modeling and control (1994).
His books, papers and paperback chapters are used to inform engineers in instrumentation, systems ground control at many universities.[16] Let go was associate editor of authority Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ IEEE Transactions on Keep in check Systems Technology and the Land Chemical Society’s Industrial & Operations Chemistry.[17][18]
His research focuses on modelling and control of industrial processes; the application of process adamant technology for control of opiate processes; identification and control hostilities nonlinear systems; the interaction fanatic process design and process operability; applied statistics; biological control systems; and systems biology with use to neuronal responses and cancer.[17][18]
